How to encrypt emails that contain recipients outside our loraincountyheatlh.com agency.

First, check with your supervisor. We have limited licenses for encrypting emails

If you include the words zixencrypt or encrypted on an email subject line, our encryption service will automatically encrypt the email. Not everyone has this enabled on their account. As a test before sending an encrypted email outside our organization, please send a test email to a personal account to verify encryption is working.

Example:

The recipient will be [email protected]

The subject line will be: This is a test encrypted email

The email body: Hi Curt, just testing emails. Have a nice day.

Notice the subject line included the encrypted keyword. The word can be in a sentence, by itself, or in brackets, it's not case sensitive so encrypted is the same as Encrypted, even eNcryPTed will work.

On the recipient end, they will get an email from ZixEncrypt with directions to their portal to retrieve your encrypted message. If the received message comes through without any mention of Zixencrypt, chances are your account doesn't include email encryption.

*PLEASE TEST BEFORE ASSUMING IT WILL WORK FOR YOUR ACCOUNT*
